Private Tutoring Customized Just for Senior Citizens!
My credentials: I am a retired school librarian with 40 years of experience. I embraced online research and the use of computer devices many years ago. While working, I specialized in teaching information evaluation techniques and cyber safety to high school students. I have given many workshops for the School Library Media Specialists section of the New York Library Association. I have published several articles in library professional journals and have written a chapter in a book on researching in the cyber age.
Concept: To teach seniors INDIVIDUALLY how to use their devices to enhance their lives. The preferred number of students would be one, but two would be the absolute maximum number per session. This allows the teaching to be personalized and avoids the frustration of general classes that tend to confuse people when they find that things don't seem to work the same way on their own device.
I am thinking that it would make sense to to have participants choose three things from the list to cover in about an hour session. Charge would be $7.00 per session. Sessions last as long as the individual needs - up to two hours max.
